We will have an END OF SUMMER DISNEY PARTY on Friday, August 30. What does that mean? We will celebrate the end of summer and the start of the new school year by enjoying our favorite Disney characters. DRESS up DISNEY! That can mean a costume, a t-shirt, Disney ears or something similar. They can bring a favorite Disney stuffed animal or toy. We will be doing fun activities all day but have THEIR favorite Disney movies going all day, except rest time. Our food and activities will all be Disney themed. I know they will be super excited! We sure are!
MTKCP has made some policy changes to make our school run smoother and benefit the children and families at the same time. All NEW and RENEWED contracts will have these changes on them.
Contracts will no longer have an end date and can only be terminated when Ms Terri or the parent gives a two week notice or there is a reason to amend the contract for change of hours/days or price change. When a child is set to leave for public school instead of continuing kindergarten with us, we just need the last day of their attendance and that will be the end of the contract date. We will attach that written note to the contract.
We will no longer charge a registration fee or yearly supply fee at the beginning of each year. We will charge a monthly supply/curriculum fee that will be due on the 15th of each month to cover infant supplies and toys, wipes, sunscreen, bug spray, craft supplies, paint, paper, ink for our color laser printer, upkeep and replacements on inside/outside toys and equipment, our monthly curriculum, our themed toy box that comes with the curriculum, Usborne and Scholastic books for our library and the children's reading baskets and more. There is a more detailed list on the FAQ page. The fee is due on the 15th of each month because our monthly curriculum is ordered on the 25th of each month at the moment. We will be able to move the date to the 20th or earlier with this new policy. That will give us more time to go through it and gather extra supplies for that month's theme. Plus, we can work on age appropriate materials for younger children that fit the same themes and sub themes each week/day.
****Parents will no longer be required to provide wipes, baby food, sunscreen, bug spray or food for parties.Those items will be provided by MTKCP.****
Parents with infants are required to provide diapers, formula, and a small backpack with several change of clothes. Parents with children over the age of one are required to provide diapers, pull-ups when potty training and for nap time (if needed), a nap mat that is quilted material with a built in pillow and blanket that rolls up and can hang on a hook, and a small backpack with several change of clothes. Please make sure the clothes they are wearing are made for play and to get dirty. We will do our best to keep things off their clothes but sometimes that it impossible. Make sure they have shoes made to play outside in that they can easily put on and take off themselves. It is very important that they are able to do as many things independently as possible as they get closer to school age. Also, make sure they have a swimsuit for water days.
We are offering a monthly payment plan with a discount worked into it. Therefore, we are no longer offering two weeks without tuition for parent's vacation since it is already worked into the cost, plus an extra two weeks' tuition. Those payments are due on the 1st of each month.
If you are ready to change over to the monthly payments, just let me know and I can amend the contract. It is our goal to have everyone switched over to monthly by the first of the new year. If it isn’t possibly right now, you might try to save a little money each week to put towards the monthly tuition, once you get it saved up you can use it to pay for the upcoming month.
By paying monthly, the rate has a discount figured into it. Our monthly rate gives a FOUR-WEEK discount yearly. That means, over a year’s time, you will get FOUR WEEKS WITHOUT TUITION. We do that as a way to say thank you for paying up front.
In order to hold a spot, parents will need to pay first month's tuition and supply/curriculum fee for their child/s contract. Those fees are non-refundable.
We will be able to update and provide things for the school on a monthly basis throughout the year with this new policy change, instead of only being able to do a small amount at the beginning of each year. As always, our main goal is to provide the highest quality of care and learning for the children.

We have THREE preschool openings, ages 18 months-4 years old.
We offer a wonderful preschool program with fabulous NEW curriculum, added to our reading program that has been in place over the last two decades. Children are "over" prepared for Kindergarten by the time they are ready to promote. They typically are reading between a 1st and 2nd grade reading level. In September 2020, we will be offering Kindergarten and will continue to teach early elementary grades.
Our hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you need hours outside of these, they are considered on a case-by-case basis. Preschool hours 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

SYMPTOMS REQUIRING REMOVAL OF CHILD FROM CHILDCARE (no exceptions)
Please do not bring your child if he/she is sick; the health and well being of all of the children here are of the utmost importance to me. It is for the protection of the children that I must insist on a strict adherence to my illness policy. Please read it carefully.
Communicable Diseases: Not permitted by law in childcare. Some of these illnesses are, but not limited to: Infectious Conjunctivitis (pink eye), Impetigo, Hepatitis A, Scabies, Ringworm, Infectious Diarrhea, Chicken Pox, Scarlet Fever, Lice, Strep Throat. If your child is thought to have a communicable disease, you will be notified and asked to pick him/her up. Your child will be accepted back into care when no longer contagious and must have a doctors note saying so. All other parents will be notified of possibility of a communicable disease and what symptoms to watch for.
Fever: Not Permitted. A child needs to be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to childcare; that means the child is fever free without the aid of any fever reducing substance. Administering Tylenol to reduce your child's fever so that you can bring him/her is grounds for termination. (A) Oral temperature above 101 degrees and accompanied by behavior changes or other signs or symptoms of illness; (B) Rectal temperature above 102 degrees and accompanied by behavior changes or other signs or symptoms of illness; (C) Armpit temperature above 100 degrees and accompanied by behavior changes or other signs or symptoms of illness; (D) Symptoms and signs of possible severe illness, such as lethargy, abnormal breathing, uncontrolled diarrhea, two or more vomiting episodes in 24 hours, rash with fever, mouth sores with drooling, wheezing, behavior changes, or other signs that the child may be severely ill; and (4) A health-care professional has diagnosed the child with a communicable disease, and the child does not have medical documentation to indicate that the child is no longer contagious.
Diarrhea: Not Permitted. Children may return to care 24 hours after beginning an antibiotic or needs to be diarrhea free for a minimum of 24 hours. Infants and toddlers with fevers and/or diarrhea pertaining to teething will only be accepted into care with a doctor’s note stating that these symptoms are due to teething.
VOMITING: Not Permitted. If your child vomits while at Daycare, you will be expected to come within THE HOUR to pick your child up. The child must stay home until 24 hours have passed with NO VOMITING EPISODES.
Running Nose: Your child may be brought to daycare if he/she has a common cold (slight occasional cough, clear runny nose, occasional sneezing) Discharge of any color other than clear is not acceptable in child care. A constant runny nose, which lasts longer than a week and you suspect it may be due to allergies, I will require you to bring a doctors note stating the same.
Rashes: Not Permitted. Any rash other than diaper rash must accompany the child to child care with a note from the doctor stating it is not contagious.
Runny and/or Crusty Eyes: Not Permitted. Watery, matted, and/or red/pink eyes are not acceptable in child care under any circumstances.
Excessive Crankiness: If your child is irritable, excessively whining or crying wants to be constantly held, or requires more attention than I can provide without jeopardizing the health, safety, or well being of the other children in my care, you must keep your child home regardless of the presence of other symptoms. If this occurs during child care hours, you will be called to come pick up your child.
Lice: Not permitted back to childcare until after the second hair treatment.
24 Hour Rule: Your child must be free from any of the above symptoms for a minimum of 24 hours before you can return to childcare. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you arrive and tell me your Childs fever broke at noon the previous day, you will be asked to leave.
Please take the rules seriously. It is always best to call me and ask if you are unsure whether or not you may bring your child. It is always best for you to have a back up plan available to you in the event your child is ill and you cannot miss work. Any infractions of the above rules and you will be called at work or school to come and pick up your child. Repeated calls to have you return here to pick up your child may result in termination (with all fees due and payable). If someone in my family has any of the above symptoms, I will call you the previous evening, or as soon as I am aware of the situation, so that you may determine whether or not you want your child exposed to such symptoms. I will ask you to make other arrangements if I feel the illness in my family will hinder the quality of care I give your child.

Hi! I'm Ms. Terri. I am the owner and director of Ms. Terri's Kid Care & Preschool. I just love to share with family and friends the fun things happening around here. I have been given a great task by God, to nurture and grow young minds. I take that responsibility very seriously. But I also know that fun has to be a part of what I do. Kids (and adults) learn so much better when we make things fun.
Another thing that is very important to us is the relationships we build with the families that are a part of our school. That is why we plan at least two family parties each year. It is a time for the families to get to know one another and feel more comfortable with our family.
We are in the process, continually, of making our program better. When we find new, fresh ideas we think will be good for our program we try them out. We have some major growing plans for the next few years. We plan to extend our program past preschool and offer Kindergarten and early elementary education. We have homeschooled our own children since 1997 and we will be homeschooling our grandchildren, as well.
